Public policy
- Every passenger must occupy the seat which is determined during check-in.
- Carry-on baggage must be put in luggage compartment or below the passenger’s seat.
- Cellphones and any electrical devices must be switched off or alter to flight mode, especially during take off and landing.
- Please tighten your seatbelt, fold the table, put your seat upright, and open the window during take off and landing.
- It is against the law and strictly prohibited to smoke anywhere in the aircraft during the flight.
Expectant Mother Policy
- Passengers with a gestational age of less than 32 weeks
- Must present a copy of the maternal health handbook (large card) or a pregnancy certificate with a hospital stamp.
- Passengers with a gestational age of more than 32 weeks (but less than 36 weeks)
- Must bring a Certificate of Diagnosis (in duplicate) stamped by the hospital and signed by the hospital doctor.
- The certificate is issued no more than 3 (three) days before departure.
- China Eastern Airlines does not allow passengers with a gestational age of 36 weeks and above.
Specific Medical Condition Policy
- Passengers with special needs are required to notify the airline of their medical condition.
- If passengers require special assistance due to age, health, disability, or other reasons, the airline recommends contacting the local Reservation office directly 3 (three) days before departure.
- Suppose passengers need assistance on the flight with meals, medical assistance, and other personal bodily functions. In that case, it is recommended to travel with an escort, as the cabin crew of China Eastern Airlines cannot assist them with this.
- China Eastern Airlines provides wheelchairs; please contact your local reservation office at least 3 (three) days before departure.
- Blind passengers can bring a cane or other assistive device/support.
- Oxygen for medical purposes is available on China Eastern Airlines in cylinders provided by the airline.

Infants and Children Policy
- Passengers under the age of two are categorized as infants and must be accompanied by an adult passenger with a minimum age of 18 years.
- Infants under 14 days old are not allowed to join the flight. A Certificate of Diagnosis must be presented for premature infants older than 14 days.
- Each adult passenger can carry a maximum of two infants.
- For safety reasons, if one passenger is traveling with two infants, one of the infants must purchase a ticket and be or sit in a separate seat and use an airline standard infant seat.
- Infants traveling without a seat are not allowed baggage allowance. Infants occupying seats will receive the standard baggage allowance.
Unaccompanied Minors
- The Unaccompanied Minors service is valid for passengers aged between 5 (five) and 12 years old traveling unaccompanied.
- Passengers must visit the local China Eastern office or contact the China Eastern call center to purchase tickets and apply for the Unaccompanied Minors service.
- Airfare for Unaccompanied Minors may differ from those traveling with an adult companion. Please contact the airline's Representative Office for more details.
Important notes:
Please arrive at the departure terminal at least 90 minutes before take-off for domestic flights and at least 2 hours for international flights.
Check-in counter would be closed 45 minutes before take-off.
